STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR OCTOBER  7, 2008

1.         College Night will be October 7th at 7:00 in the Media Center. There will be representatives from Wake Forest, Carolina, Winston-Salem State, Salem College, Forsyth Tech and the N.C. School of the Arts. Discussions will include College admission requirements, financial aid information and the advantages of a Community College, state/private institution.

2.       If you drive to school, please purchase a parking sticker at lunch in the student store. The parking lot will be checked for parking stickers on student cars.

3.       There will be an SLC meeting for all paid members on Tuesday, October 7th in room 512/514.

4.       The next Drivers Education class will be held October 13th through October 24th from 3:45 until 6:45. Only one make up day is allowed. Sign ups are Wednesday, October 8th during lunch. You must be 15 by December 30th, 2008.

5.       There will be strength and conditioning immediately after school on Tuesday, October 7th for the Girl's basketball team. All girls planning on trying out for basketball are reminded that physicals will be given here at the school Wednesday after school for $20.00.

6.       Yearbooks are now on sale for $58.00. You can order in room 403 with cash or online at www.smart-pay.com.

7.       The yearbook staff is giving every student the opportunity to get a free yearbook. If you have signed up or want to sign up and need a brochure, order form and collection envelope, stop by room 403.

8.       Did you know that the Spanish Department is organizing an educational trip to Costa Rica? If you want to know more about it, please join us at the informational meeting on Sunday, October 19th at 3:00pm in the Media Center.

9.       Hey Lady Mustangs! Are you ready for some football? If so, sign up to play in the Powder Puff football game during lunch. The cost is $3 to play. Sign ups are during all four lunches. The last day to sign up will be Wednesday, October 8th.

10.     Attention all Mustangs! Do you want to send your teacher to jail? If so, stop by the school store and pay $1 to cast your vote to send your teacher to jail. Sign ups will begin on Friday, October 3rd and will end Wednesday, October 15th. Teachers will be jailed on Friday, October 17th.

11.   We will be offering physicals for Winter sports on Wednesday, October 8th at 4:00pm. The cost is $20...cash only. Please bring a physical form with you.

12.      Softball tryouts will be Tuesday, October 7th at 4:00 on the field.

13.      Ladies of Purpose meeting will be held Tuesday, October 7th at 4:30 in room 406.
